St. James Day School: Elle's First Day

We all survived Elle's first morning at school! She cried a little at home but agreed to get in the car and go check out school to see if it looked like fun. This week their unit is on "Bears" so each child was invited to bring a bear from home with them. We had Pooh all buckled into Mommy's car ready to go. I promised to show Elle the K-3 playground and we took her teacher Ms. Gale the picture Elle made for her. We waited with her in her class until her best friend Paige arrived after which Elle was fine with us leaving. Cory and I were not so fine with the leaving part, but if she was okay, we could be okay! We skipped the Parent's Club breakfast social and had our own private boo-hoo breakfast at Starbucks together afterwards.
Our friends the Jordans saw Elle with her class later in the morning "hunting bear tracks" to learn their way around the campus and took the last picture for us--proof that she is happy and adjusting well with her class...and proof that she is indeed, the tallest one!

To Our Precious Angel Elle,

We are so proud of you today! And so very happy for you. In almost 4 years you have made our lives so full of life and indescribable joy. This new chapter for you promises many changes and wonderful adventures. We have loved every moment we have shared with you until now. You are ready to share more of your life with new friends and wonderful caring teachers. May they all see in you what we see: beautiful light, deeply loving and sensitive soul and a most joyful happy spirit.
